Fall Workshop Updates

We’ve had a busy fall here at the Huston & Company workshop, and though we don’t have photos of every piece we built this season, we thought we’d share a few highlights of furniture that came through the shop this fall.

We finished up the custom extension dining table we began in the summer. When the four leaves are inserted, the table measures 18ft. long!

This was a particularly special piece to make its way through the workshop during the fall months. We refinished an end table that Bill and his brother & sister built in 1982 for their parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. It’s great to see how well this family heirloom has aged over the last 40 years and how with a little care, it will last for many, many more.

We’re delivering this chaise lounge to a local customer very soon and we all cannot wait to see how this sleek piece looks in its new home.

Work has begun on the first of many Harkness Tables, with this one being delivered to Phillips Exeter Academy next month. Expect to see a lot more of these tables in the coming months as we are now the sole builder and provider of these patented collaborative learning tables.

There have been so many interesting residential pieces to come through the shop these last few months. These two different desks are heading to a home in Georgia for each of the homeowners’ offices.

Saer is finishing up his entry for the upcoming juried Maine Wood exhibition, sponsored by the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport. We’ll be sure to share more of his updated take on our classic Coat Tree once his entry is finalized.
